I'm married

Well, I guess I am officially married now, and in Alaska enjoying myself . . . so . . . can't tell you anything that happened because I am writing this about 3 weeks early, so . . . how about I show you my Bridesmaids gifts!!

So, first I bought each of the girls a necklace, all a similar design, but a bit different. And of course they had to be pearls . . . I am a June baby (and actually 3 of us are June babies, and 2 May babies - which I find odd). Anyway . . . here they are

This one we actually had the extra chain added, so that it looks the same.

These were all made by Etsy designer Luxe Deluxe . . . and I think they are absolutely perfect.

I also made little clutches for each girl in a different green fabric. I bought the pattern from another Etsy seller, Keykalou, but I increased the size of it a bit and added an inside pocket. The fabric is all from a neat little fabric shop in Portland, Bolt. If you are in the Portland area, you should go by. They have classes if you don't know how to sew already!! Anyway, I think the clutches turned out beautifully. The purple fabric is what I used on the inside of the clutches. Cute buttons huh??

Dress Appt #5

The next edition of the dress making process!!
It is finally made out of bridal fabric . . . silk!!
Oh so pretty!! It was so amazing to see it nearer to completion!
That is a lot of train back there.
Yay! Amazing huh?? Remember what it looked like last time?? It has come so far!! More and more excited.

A must

Something you rarely ever think about with weddings is where your guests are going to go to the bathroom! Because we are getting married at a small B&B that is basically someones home, we had to make sure we had a place for everyone to go . . . thus came potty rentals!!!

Now, I wish we could rent some like this:

But, these luxury trailer bathrooms can cost thousands of dollars!! Can you believe that?? Thousands of dollars?? Anyway . . . ares are going to look more like this . . . I know, not the best thing you have ever seen, but what can you do? At least they say they are steam cleaned!!!

Now, you may wonder why we have three different toilets . . . the first is for the men, the second women, and the third is handicap. Seems weird, I know, but I feel even weirder explaining why . . . obviously the handicap on is bigger and easier to get around in for those who may need it. The other two . . . well . . . the one for the men has a urinal. Apparently when one of those is missing there can be splatter (god boys are gross!!) . . . so we got the pretty one for the women. I think it wont be that bad . . . with how few people we will have at the wedding, they wont be anything like concert potties!!

Plus we got some things to gussy them up . . . pretty soap and lotion, lanterns for when it gets dark, and some nice sinks!!

I think it will be ok . . . don't you?? It is a necessity I guess . . .

Flowers

I guess I should talk a little bit about flowers . . . for a long time we were thinking of ordering the flowers and then putting them together ourselves with some help of a friend or two. Well, we changed our minds and now we are getting the flowers done by an old friend who just reopened a flower shop in downtown called Stems Uptown! The woman is named Shelly and I probably bought 12 bouts from her throughout high school. When I came in to get my last bout for my senior prom she actually called my wedding!! Funny how things work out!

So here are some of the bouts I was thinking about (or at least that I liked!):

We are actually getting this one! Tied with the leather! So masculine . . . our succulent is actually going to be more green though. Living in SoCal I have started to love succulents . . . especially since my non-existent green thumb kills every other plant I have . . . except for maybe the cactus!

Now onto some of the bouquets that I like so much!!

This is somewhat similar to what my bouquet will look like. Mostly white hydrangea with bits of purple coming up out of the white. I think mine is prettier . . . but very similar style!

For my bouquet I wanted it wrapped in something. I thought about ribbon like the bridesmaids . . . but then I saw these pretty wraps too!!

I want to take some pictures like this . . .
Aren't those cute?? I am planning on doing some of these on my wedding day - not engagement (as these are), but I think they are adorable!! And we can take them on our family quilt!! I want it!

M's fitting was not quite as funny as my brothers . . . but still with the high-water pants, can anyone tell me why that is??
He doesn't look happy that I am taking his picture!!
Plus here is the color of the suit we are renting . . . not black, yay!

The First Look

The first look. What do you all think about this? It is the thing that photographers set up for couples who would like to take pictures before the ceremony, but still want the anticipation of seeing each other for the first time.

M and I want to take pictures before hand, so I guess we have to set something up like this. I just have a few problems . . .

They always have the groom facing away from the bride, and she walks up and taps him on the shoulder . . . first this seems so unnatural, second, the groom doesn't get to see the bride in all her beautiful dress glory, and third . . . I want to be able to see M's face when he sees me . . . if we are so close I wont be able to see that face!!!

Plus, M hates the name "first look" . . . I can't say it is the best name, but I am not sure what else to call it.

I am sure it was emotional and exciting and everything we all want when we first see our future husband/wife but, I want something different . . . maybe a little more like this . . .

I love the fact that the bride and groom are looking at each other. At the B&B, there is that big wrap around porch . . . I am hoping that we can do something where I walk around the corner or something . . . should be cute! Either way, I hope it is exciting . . . I am a bit nervous about it now, so can't imagine what it will be like on that day!!!
