Flower Boxes

I love these flower boxes. They are rustic and pretty. They would have fit right in with our wedding . . . but they look hand made, which means a lot more work!
Aren't they pretty??
I originally thought they were planted flowers, but it looks like there are little vases inside the boxes.

Oh this cute wedding has sweet wood cookie cake stands too!!

Bouquets and Garters

M and I like all the "traditional" things, even though we are a bit untraditional. So we did decide to do the bouquet and garter tosses!! The bouquet toss was a little bit different . . .
It is such an awful pic of me!
And you can see . . .the bouquet split into multiple pieces.
So . . . multiple girls got to take home some pretty little flowers.
There we all are!

Then the garter. A little weird to have your new husband go up your dress in front of all your friends and family . . . but at least it didn't last too long.
It was a Mizzou garter . . . and we had the Mizzou fight song playing, which is pretty funny I think.
And that's my brother with it. Can't decide if that is weird or not!
So funny!

Tossing Flowers

How come most of the time when you go to weddings all the girls jump away from the bouquet, rather than doing this . . .

You get to go home with some pretty flowers . . . who cares!! I am going to share a secret (because by the time this posts my wedding will be over and it wont really be a secret anymore) . . . I am having a special bouquet made that when I toss it, it will break apart in to 5 smaller bouquets!! I don't think they will all be able to jump away from that one!!

Flowers

I guess I should talk a little bit about flowers . . . for a long time we were thinking of ordering the flowers and then putting them together ourselves with some help of a friend or two. Well, we changed our minds and now we are getting the flowers done by an old friend who just reopened a flower shop in downtown called Stems Uptown! The woman is named Shelly and I probably bought 12 bouts from her throughout high school. When I came in to get my last bout for my senior prom she actually called my wedding!! Funny how things work out!

So here are some of the bouts I was thinking about (or at least that I liked!):
We are actually getting this one! Tied with the leather! So masculine . . . our succulent is actually going to be more green though. Living in SoCal I have started to love succulents . . . especially since my non-existent green thumb kills every other plant I have . . . except for maybe the cactus!

Now onto some of the bouquets that I like so much!!

This is somewhat similar to what my bouquet will look like. Mostly white hydrangea with bits of purple coming up out of the white. I think mine is prettier . . . but very similar style!

I also want my bridesmaids to have ribbon hanging down like in these pictures!!

(Ribbon: 1. The Everyday Bride, 2. unknown)

For my bouquet I wanted it wrapped in something. I thought about ribbon like the bridesmaids . . . but then I saw these pretty wraps too!!

And then one more very important flower is the flower girl crowns. Look how cute little girls look in these things!!

All I can say is WOW!

In Martha Stewart's Daily Wedding E-mail a couple days ago were these amazing beaded flowers! Seriously, all I can say is WOW!! How cool. I am not sure if that is something that I would want to do with my time, but what an amazing result!! And I love the boutonnieres!!!

Irises Are My Favorite

Irises are my favorite, but not the little Japanese ones, but the big beautiful bearded ones. So, when I saw these pretty bouquets made with the "big" irises . . . well, it actually made me sad . . . I can't have the large irises in August. But they are super pretty anyway!!! See for yourself.
