Mother of the Bride Dress

So, as I told you all I was up in Portland over the weekend (well Wednesday to Sunday), so I got a ton done, but also my to do list somehow expanded. I am hoping to have my camera back on Thursday (my brother is overnighting it to arrive then) . . . and I have a ton of pictures to share, so I am really excited.

Anyway, we did some shopping for a dress for my mom. She actually purchased a bunch from Spiegel and Newport News that she tried on when I was home, but none of them really fit what either of us wanted. Anyway . . . this is what we came up with.

The dress and the images are from Norstroms. I think it is super cute, my favorite part is the little slit in the back by the neck. It is just so pretty! Plus mom looks great in it. Super flattering and isn't that typical old lady mother of the bride look. I hate that look!! Nobody should want their mother in some mu-mu looking thing with no shape and pastel colors!! You want your mom to look young and beautiful . . . she is the hostess!! Anyway . . . I love my mom's dress so I just had to share!

Out of Town

So I have been out of town for the last 4 days, up in Portland, working on my wedding. Now, I am soooooo far behind in writing blogs . . . as well as reading all my favorites so I have a lot to catch up on. I have a bunch of stuff I want to post about my trip to Portland as well. But the sad news about that is that I somehow left my camera up there . . . and all the fun pictures with the things I bought I am now not able to show those with you guys, at least for a little while!!! Anyway . . . I will see what I can get up soon . . .

Missing Save-the-Dates

So . . . I am kind of upset. Some of our Save-the-Dates apparently didn't make it to their intended recipients!! The weird thing is that the people who didn't get them are living in Southern California (most within minutes from our house!!!) So I am getting new ones to those who I know didn't get them, and I hope there aren't too many more, because I will run out of magnets here soon!! Oh well I guess.

I {Heart} Chalkboards!

I created a new board based on chalkboard pictures I have been collecting for quite some time. I am planning on using chalkboards for a multitude of things . . . a wine and beer menu at the bar, a big board for our dinner menu, small boards for our table numbers, and maybe a few others elsewhere (like at the guest book table or whatnot). I love chalkboards! Be sure to click on the image to see it in its full glory!

(Images from 1. A Backyard Wedding 2. Favors By Lisa 3. Rock N Roll Bride 4. Classic Bride 5. I don't remember where this one came from . . . let me know if you do 6. Victoria With Roses 7. Duet Weddings 8. Once Wed 9. Classic Bride)

I had to include the lovely chalkboard with the Mizzou-rita . . . Yay Mizzou!! I don't think we will have anything like that, but I love that someone did!!

I love this Wedding #5

This couple took the olive theme to it's fullest, and it is beautiful. You know I love the Olive Branch look and everything, so this wedding actually makes me really jealous. It is the wedding of Day and Max, found on Style Me Pretty. Enjoy the pics!

First, beautiful setting . . . along with a beautiful bride . . . and the bouquet is really pretty too.
Beautiful and simple hairpiece and earrings!
I love succulents! Probably because they are the only plants I can't kill . . . but they are super pretty.

Lemonade in mason jars??!!?? I absolutely love it!!! Plus, here starts the olive branches. These are actual olive leaves in brown paper bags and twine . . . The jealousy has started!! This is such a fun array of bridesmaids and colors . . . that is a lot of bridesmaids!!
You know I love parasols!!
And the flower girls are tossing olive leaves . . . the jealously is rising!!

Olive branches at the table settings!! It is so simple and elegant . . . I love it . . . there goes the jealously again. So pretty . . . ::swoon::
And olive leaves for people to toss as the bride and groom walk back down the isle, not to mention the pretty rustic box they are in, so lovely . . . oh I want it.
And bluegrass!!! I love banjos!! Can I pretty pretty please have this wedding?
Oh and the lights, this set up is so gorgeous!!
Cheers!
Can you see why I love this?? Oh I want it. If someone know where I can buy olive leaves . . . please let me know. That is exactly what I want!!!

Bathtub

From the moment I got engaged I have been collecting images and inspirations for my wedding. So now, I have this huge word file filled with wedding inspiration . . . one of the things I grabbed and kept is this picture:

There is a Claw-footed tub at the B&B and so I want a picture like this!! I was reminded of this picture when I saw this picture on Snippet & Ink this weekend:

I think they are both such fun pictures. I am going to do it. I love it!!!

I ordered something pretty!

I don't remember how exactly I came across Hana at Lacuna, but she does amazing work. I originally found a fairly simple wooden journal, but it lead me to her Etsy shop where I found her Olive Branch Journal. And you all know how much I love Olive Branches, so I immediately thought that it would be perfect for my guest book!! Hana was so helpful will all the little details I wanted added to the book. Anyway . . . here is what she created!!!

With the wedding date on the back!! I just love it. It hasn't arrived yet, so all these pics are by Hana. I didn't even think to ask, but the green and brown beads on the binding fit perfectly with our color scheme! Oh I just love it.

I won something pretty!

Thanks to Laura E at Southern Weddings, who told me to check on Southern Weddings because I won something.

Anyway . . . I won some custom hairpins from Princessbands. Apparently Catherine Siroka, the founder, is going to make pins that have pale pink quartz as petals with a pearl in the center and maybe a few tiny lavenders. She said "It'll look like a tiny orchid." Sounds pretty to me!!

Here is a pic that shows a bunch of the things they make. Super pretty!
Catherine, also donates a portion of every sale to the charity of the brides choice. So, if you are wanting to do good while shopping . . . here you go. To win we had to write about our favorite charity. This is what I wrote:

So yay!! Super exciting.

Olive Branch Invites

Olive Branches are part of my wedding scheme, so I kind of squealed when I saw these invites!! Basically, these are exactly what I want!

They have the sagey green olive branches . . . and purple type. I love CAPs mixed with the names in fancy cursive. It is organic, but also organized and clean. Oh I want them!! I might change the wording on it a bit, but other than that basically perfect!!!

I love this Wedding #4

Another wedding I am completely in love with!!! It is the wedding of JoEllen and Rob that I found while searching around on Snippet & Ink, an amazing blog that I am also in love with! I hope you enjoy all the pictures, I sure do.

Firstly, this is a beautiful site. I love the round barn. I looked at barns when I was looking at sites, but they were all a bit over my budget. Oh well.
Super cute invites!! I wish I had the talent to create something this unique and fun.
Yay flats . . . you don't see that too often.
I love this tie. I wish I could find a similar one in green for M and his groomsmen!!
Ahh . . . love the twine on the boutonniere!!
I have been talking to M for a long time about having an old truck at the wedding, the only problem is that our ceremony and reception is in the same place, and I can't really find a reason why we would actually need a truck!! (except for the pretty pictures!)

Love, love, love the hanging mason jar flower arrangements!! Super cute.

I have never really been a big fan of "red weddings." I am not sure why that is, but I just haven't been a fan. This wedding has completely changed my mind. I love all the red . . . all the cute details. Just stick me in my dress and recreate this wedding . . . I think I would be ok!
I am having games at my wedding. It has to be one of the best things about having a wedding outside . . . you can do all this fun stuff!
I am "copying" this detail to some extent! I have loved the mini clothes pins since before I was engaged, and I already bought the largest thing of brown and white bakers twine that I have ever seen. So when I saw this I thought . . . I could totally do something like this. I am thinking, maybe some chicken wire, some olive branches, my brown and white bakers twine . . . very excited.
Cupcake ids . . . super fun!
Beautiful barn!
